St. James Street, Brighton

“a cleverly integrated, well-designed modern development adjacent to a Conservation Area, producing a wide range of essential downtown accommodation”. Sussex Heritage Trust Awards judges 2011

Probably the narrowest new building in Brighton has in-filled an unsightly gap in the historic St James Street frontage and enhanced the conservation area. Three apartments, a new shop and a mews house have been squeezed in to a narrow slot in St James Street. The project completes the regeneration of a neglected back street, the first phase of which  provided six affordable houses.
